The Madness Has Struck!

On two fronts:

It's tourney time again! As sure a sign that spring has sprung as any chocolate bunny in my book. The productivity level around the office fades and rivalries heat up. I LOVE IT. I must admit, though, my NCAA basketball knowledge has dipped way below an acceptable level. I just don't have the time to devote to power rankings, RPI's and player stats. anymore. But I will forever bleed green...so GO SPARTYS!

On the homefront:

Kitchen cabinets are being installed today and my in-laws hit the scene tonight to start tiling. I'm not sure I am happy with the wall color yet, but I am not going to do anything about it until the granite and appliances are installed. Right now everything seems like it is the same color. But I will be patient. Paint is the easiest thing to change anyway. I will post some photos after the weekend of work.

Alright...gotta get back to live streaming scores!

Matt's Favorite Holiday!

His name is MATTHEW CHRISTOPHER CONNOLLY for goodness sake! He has red hair and freckles. He is catholic. He loves Guinness. Need I say more?

I will be cooking corned beef and cabbage tonight at a friend's house...after we pub crawl for a bit. Should be a fun afternoon.

Progress Report

No kitchen photos to share because my camera is giving me
fits, but I wanted to share some random thoughts
regarding the remodel.

Every morning I wake up in the same episode of
This Old House (minus the new england accents),
thankfully it is one of my favorite shows. Matt doesn't share
my sentiments. He claims he is allergic to the dust, but I'm
pretty sure he is just allergic to the mess. He and Max have
relocated to the cottage and he is commuting to Traverse City.

Reggie and I are hanging tough. Reggie LOVES the mess and
the guys who come and work on the house. I have never seen
a dog fascinated by power tools before. He hangs with the guys
every morning for about 15 minutes before I leave for work and
he eats them up. When I walked in the kitchen this morning
his little nose was about three inches away from Jeremy, who was
cutting a 2x4 with a circular saw. Reggie's eyes were shut
because of all the dust it was kicking up, but he was
not at all scared of the saw. So funny.

We haven't run into any major problems yet. Electrician began
rewiring today and drywall is slated for Friday. We should be
able to lay tile early next week. Keep your fingers crossed!

I've attached a photo I took of Matt on the slopes a couple
of weeks ago. Only three weeks (give or take) left in
the ski season. It's been a good one. Matt took
home a ton of "gold medals" in his ski league. He says it
doesn't mean anything, but I'm proud of him.

Gotta run!
